Saying goodbye to a Filly

I'm very pleased to announce that FF's Blessings of the Day has found a new home just a couple of hours after making her debut on the MLP Arena! She sold for a very fair price, and her buyer loves her to pieces, which is all we can ask for sold customs, really! The proceeds from her sale are going back into supplies - Fimo, baits, packages of hair etc.

Following my rule that each custom pony is OOAK, Blessings of the Day will never be reproduced for sale again; however if anyone would like a custom with the same theme, colours or style, feel free to get in touch.

I'm currently hard at work on my pony for the Twisted Fairy Tales swap over at the Arena. While I can't give anything away about it's theme or form, I'll try and make progress updates as I go, though don't expect any sneaky pictures!

Blessings of the Day: a Wiccan pony.

Hey all,

Fiwen's Fillies introduces 'Blessings of the Day', a charming little baby pony made with love and care, and with a beautiful theme behind  her.

Blessings of the Day was made from a G1 newborn Baby Shaggy, and has been rehaired with thick plugs of Dollyhair's Sea Nymph, and streaks of Starlight that make her mane and tail shimmer!

Her symbol is on both sides of her rump, and has been built up in thin layers that make up her leaf and vine pattern surrounding her tiny, silver and white pentagram.

For a finishing touch, Blessings of the Day has had her eyes carefully repainted in shades of aqua and green to tie in with her hair and symbol, with tiny eyelashes picked out in a very dark brown. Finally, they've been given a coat of gloss, to bring this little pony to life!

Twisted Fairy Tales...

Hi all,

I'm getting ready to participate in a custom swap over at the MLP Arena with the theme being twisted fairy tales! We're currently at the stage where we're being partnered up according to skill level and preferences, but hopefully by tomorrow I'll have the info I need to get planning and started. I'm afraid I can't say too much about it, with the swap needing to be a secret from my partner until shipping time, but I'm hoping this will give me a chance to stretch my brain and come up with something seriously spooky and twisted! Watch this space!

Not-a-Filly!

We take a short break from the Pony proceedings for an update about...DOLLS!

More specifically, Dal dolls from Jun Planning; even more specifically, my first Dal and new model - Natty.

Now, along with painting, drawing and (of course) customising MLPs, I like to sew. I love fabrics and threads, ribbons and lace, beads and teeny tiny buttons... It's all fantastic! I also own several other Jun Planning dolls (Pullips) who are dressed in mostly ready-made clothes because as fun as creating doll clothing is, sewing to 1/6th scale is HARD. That's where Natty comes in.

Since Dal's have more childlike bodies, compared with Pullip's curves, it makes them a lot easier to fit and pattern clothes for; not to mention a great excuse to make pretty, girly dresses! These are some of my first attempts, so go easy on me guys, but Natty seems happy enough don't you think?

Scarborough Fair - [a hippy pony].

My latest creation, Scarborough Fair, is a hippy-style remake of one of my favourite G1 ponies - Strawberry Fair.

She was a G3 bait with a turnable head, and she's been rehaired in heavy weight red wool, that's been plaited, distressed, adorned and textured to give her a care-free hippy look. There's a henna design up her front leg which has been painted with model acrylics along with her Twice As Fancy strawberry vine design, which covers both her sides and back, with a smaller symbol on her forehead. Her iris' were already the perfect shade of blue, but she's been given new eyelashes and thick lower eyeliner. As a final touch, she's got 2, small peace sign tattoos on the backs of her hind legs!

Welcome!

Hey there and welcome to Fiwen's Fillies!

I'm a long time artist and My Little Pony admirer, but relatively new to the world of customising, and this blog has been set up to document and showcase my customs as a portfolio and visual diary. I hope you enjoy my work and visit regularly as I polish up the site and introduce some more content.

Here's to the future!
